Hunter's Moon - Single

Released March 9'th, 2020

I can see you in this crystal ball.
Sleeping off a migraine or sacking Babylon.
All these empty bar stools moan for thee.
Every jukebox seems to know the saddest melodies.

Someone's singing praises just a little out tune,
for someone who had come and gone too soon.
Somewhere there's a map that somehow lost its compass rose.
But it doesn't really matter, I suppose.

I'll take any lover with some skill.
Like any other traveler, I want my canteen filled.
This little ashtrays full of cigarettes.
Most of what I do all day I manage to forget.

Somewhere someone's drinking and without an end in sight.
There's a kid redacting everything he writes.
Every broken heart is like a twisted inside joke.
But they mean nothing to you, I suppose.

When you live in a fantasy
everyone sustains,
and everything you want is free,
why would you ever pay?

Somewhere there's a collar that couldn't find a pet,
A hunter's moon that simply came and went.
All the somber sonnets sound just like some standard prose.
And they mean nothing to you, I suppose.
